The authentic Butte, from bohemian to rebellious. An immersion in the artists' village, far from the clichés.
To avoid the «Amélie Poulain» cliché and appeal to a public that wants something authentic. The village's past, the vineyards, the artists of the Bateau-Lavoir and the symbolism of the Sacré-Coeur. A link between the history of the Paris Commune and the bohemian spirit.
Forget the crowded staircases. We'll start our ascent on the «hidden» side of the Butte to discover a secret Montmartre: one of flower-filled cul-de-sacs, historic vineyards and workshop legends.

The Aliboron donkey hoax. In front of the Lapin Agile, Frank tells how a donkey called Lolo painted, with his tail, an abstract art picture entitled «Et le soleil s'endormit sur l'Adriatique» ("And the sun fell asleep over the Adriatic"). It was a memorable hoax designed to mock the modernist painters of the time.
Taste a madeleine at the award-winning Au Levain d'Antan bakery, renowned for its traditional savoir-faire in the heart of rue des Abbesses.
